Anne Edis

President

Anne Edis is a founding member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers and in the early days, together with other founder members, set the path for The Association of Lifetime Lawyers as we now know it. Now a retired solicitor, in her years of practice Anne specialised in advising older clients both in the public and private sectors.

She lectured widely for CLT, the Law Society STEP and other continuing professional development providers on Court of Protection matters, long term care, mental capacity, lasting powers of attorney and professional practice when working with older clients. She was also instrumental in enabling elder client law to be recognised as a specialist area of law. Over the years she has written widely including contributing to The Elderly Client Handbook and several journals.

Anne is involved in supporting in a practical way a number of charities including 18 years as a trustee of The Leprosy Mission and 20 years as a volunteer at Sue Ryder Care, Thorpe Hall Hospice as well as supporting Hospital at Home and Bonnie Babies, a premature baby charity. In 2018, she was the ‘face’ of the Sue Ryder national legacy campaign. Currently, she is a director of the retirement complex where she now lives
