We are expanding our Wills & Probate department and looking for a fee-earner to join our team of 5 who cover the following Private Client areas:
- Powers of Attorney
- Administration of Estate
- Deputyship Applications
- Management of Affairs
- Declarations of Trust
- Assisting clients with estate and tax planning (using Wills, trusts and lifetime giving), Living Wills, Statutory Wills, preparing Powers of Attorney and undertaking Court of Protection work, dealing with the finances and (if appropriate) making an application for relevant benefits, administration of trusts, information on home care, preserving assets in the event of long-term residential or nursing care, care home contracts
Owen Kenny Solicitors are based in central Chichester, with 2 offices and 33 members of staff. One office (in South Street) houses our property team and the accounts department; another office (in Market Avenue) houses our Private Client team and Litigation department. Our law firm is established in this area and our name is well known locally. All of our Private Client team have been trained to be Dementia Friends; fee-earners are also encouraged to be Solicitors for the Elderly.
We are looking for an experienced and skilled fee-earner (minimum 2/3 years PQE or equivalent). The successful applicant will be able to provide clients with the support and legal advice they need with an empathetic approach, always working towards developing a practical and straightforward solution for clients. Must be able to work as part of a team.
Our Continuing Competence quarterly updates (Development Plan, Development Record) encourage fee-earners to choose training courses/webinars that are appropriate for their development.
Our Directorship Scheme is aimed at encouraging long-term commitment to the firm; fee-earners are invited to undertake the Scheme with a view to joining the Board of Directors.
